Poem #4

We're throwing around accusations
Trying to find truth within the lies
You don't believe me,
And I can't believe you

why do we do this?
Why can't there be trust?
You tell me you love me,
But tonight I just don't believe it

Look past the lies,
And remember the love we have for each other
Because that is what matters
And I don't want to lose that

I will fight for us,
But I can't fight alone
I need you
To help me, to help us

Lie with me, in our bed
Look me in the eyes
And tell me the truth
Because that is all I want to hear

Poem #3

Grandpa

The tree is up and decorated
It reminds me of the good days with you
Your happiness warmed everyone's heart
Now they're all broken

Here without you the days seem longer
And meaningless
Why did you have to go?
Was it my fault??

I shouldn't blame myself,
But I do

And it hurts so much
Now that you're no longer here
To tell me
That everything will be okay

I remember that night
It was the first snowy day of December
I held your hand as you said goodbye,
And tried to hold back the tears

I tried to tell you that I loved you
But I couldn't get the words out

You told me you loved me,
And that everything would be alright

I want you to know that I do love you,
And that you are my hero

Sitting across the room from you
Still makes my heart race
Even after all this time
I can't explain it

Every time I see you
It brings back memories
That make me smile
Even though we don't even talk to each other anymore

It kills me everyday
I try to forget you
But I can't
You gave me too many good memories

Why do I sit here missing you?
When you've obviously forgotten about me

When my friends ask me how I am doing
I'll lie and say I'm alright
I'll even fake a smile
and pretend that everything is alright

Even though they can see that I'm not alright
But they go along with it
Because they want to see me happy
Not sad and heartbroken

Do you regret
Ever kissing me?
Ever telling me you cared?
Do you regret it all?

Do you try to forget
All those feelings
You felt that day
Do you even care?

Now that it's over do you
Do you try to forget
Everything that happened?
Because you don't seem to care

I thought I liked you
I still do
I can't forget you
Like you have forgotten about me

I won't forget
Because it meant so much to me
You made me feel special
In that moment

I thought it meant something
To the both of us
But not to you
Because you've forgotten
